December Weekend New Releases: Here are five new releases you watch this weekend:
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui
Ayushmann Khurrana starrer released in theatres on December 10. The film has Vaani Kapoor playing the female and not to give spoilers but the trailer makes it seem like the film explores a transgender person and a straight person's love story. Khurrana's character falls in love with Kapoor's and when she revealed her gender identity, he finds it difficult to love her. The director of the film Abhishek Kapoor, who has also directed Kedarnath, has said that the film is a gender bending one and would speak to the audience.
Aarya Season 2
Season 2 of the much popular series will start from where the much popular first season ended. Aarya Sarin, the protagonist of the series is woman forced by her circumstances in the family business which is drug trade. The season will have nine episodes. Aarya's husband has been murdered by the rivals and the family feels lost as the aftermath of his death. Aarya handles the responsibility of her children and makes difficult choices to run the business and seek revenge from her enemies.
Aranyak
Raveena Tandon’s much awaited OTT show Aranyak will also star Parambrata Chatterjee, Ashutosh Rana the makers have just dropped the teaser. It's a murder mystery set in the mystery hills of the mystery Himalayas. The show is all set to release on OTT on December 10. Raveena Tandon can be seen playing a cop. Produced by Roy Kapur Films and Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, the series has Rohan Sippy as its showrunner and Vinay Waikul as the director.
The Unforgiveable
Nora Fingscheidt directorial The Unforgiveable stars Sandra Bullock as a matriarchal figure. Bullock plays the role of a woman who rebuilds her life after coming out of in prison. But she struggles to find her place in the society which does not forgets her past. Writers Hillary Seitz, Courtnay Miles and Peter Craig have written the film and it is available to stream on Netflix.
West Side Story
The fans of Steven Spielberg are rejoicing as he comes out with his new film. It is adapted from the Broadway musical of the same name which was created by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. The film narrates the gang rivalry between to groups. The cast members of the film, Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler are associated with the same gang but Zegler's Maria is the sister of the group's leader and Elgort's Tony falls in love with her.
