Sonakshi Sinha made a terrific OTT debut with the Amazon Prime series Dahaad. The psychological crime thriller was created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti and directed by Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. Featuring Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah play pivotal roles in the eight-episode web series.
Dahaad is set against the backdrop of a small town near Jaipur, Rajasthan, where the police are investigating the mysteriously connected murders of several young women. Anjali Bhatti (Sonakshi Sinha) is a Sub Inspector who works alongside Station House Officer Devi Singh (Gulshan Devaiah).
Initially assumed to be suicides, Bhatti establishes links between several deaths and the presence of a serial psycho-killer, Anand (Vijay Varma) on the loose. The narrative then becomes a cat-and-mouse chase between the police and the killer.
While a small portion of Twitter users feel the narrative is slow-paced, the majority of netizens laud Dahaad as a worthy binge-watch, and praised the cast. They deem Sonakshi Sinha's role as Anjali Bhatti her career-best performance. Here are a few snippets from what Twitter users are saying about the web series.
