Complaint against Oviyaa: A member of Tamil Nadu BJP's legal wing has filed a complaint against actor Oviyaa for her tweet on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The petition was submitted by one Alexis Sudhakar, with cyber crime cell. In his petition, Sudhakar has demand action against the actor.
On February 13, Oviyaa tweeted #GoBackModi from her official Twitter handle, in wake of Modi's visit to Chennai. According to a report by The News Minute, the party has also asked the police to check whether the intent behind the actor's tweet was to incite public disorder ahead of Modi’s visit to Chennai and take appropriate action against her.

"Following her tweets, large number of public in Tamil Nadu including some petty political parties indulged in activities that lead to distortion of public peace and order in and around Chennai and I along with my friends and relations were victimised," Sudhakar wrote in his complaint against the former Bigg Boss Tamil contestant.
Demanding a charge of sedition against Oviyaa, Sudhakar wrote in his petition, "I further request that the investigation officers check her correspondence and communication with foreign countries and also inspect her passport to understand if she is of Indian Nationality only given her violent acts."
Who is Oviyaa
Born as Helen Nelson, Oviyaa has worked in regional films across languages like Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. While she began her career working in supporting roles, Oviyaa found a breakthrough with 2010 film Kalavani, in which she starred as the female lead, alongside actor Vimal. In Manmadhan Ambu, which released in the same year, she worked alongside actors Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan.
In 2017, Oviyaa appeared as a contestant on Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Haasan, however, she quit the show midway. After her stint on the reality show, she was seen in films like Muni 4: Kanchana and 90ML. Oviyaa has a following of 552,000 on Twitter.
