Rohit Shetty's Cirkus will debut on the OTT platform this month. Following their cop movie Simmba in 2018 and Ranveer's cameo appearance in Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi, which was an expansion of Rohit's cop universe, last year, it was their third time working together when it was released in theatres on December 23.
Cirkus OTT Release Date
Cirkus' digital streaming rights have reportedly been sold to OTT service Netflix. The movie will debut this week, on February 17, 2023, on Netflix. Ranveer Singh thanked Rohit Shetty for consistently casting him in a variety of roles, whether comedy or drama, when asked about his experience with Cirkus. The actor called their working relationship "very unique." He claimed that their relationship goes beyond work.
In the Rohit Shetty movie, Ranveer Singh played two roles for the first time in his acting career. In addition to him, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez played the lead women, and Varun Sharma had a dual role. Supporting actors included Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Ashwini Kalsekar, Siddharth Jadhav, Vrajesh Hirjee, Tiku Talsania, Murali Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, Brijendra Kala, Anil Charanjeett, Sulabha Arya, and Vijay Patkar. Both Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn make cameo appearances in the movie.

The main character of Cirkus is Ranvir Singh, who also had a dual role in the 1982 film Angoor, which was based on William Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors. The twin brothers, who were separated at birth and later reunited in the film, cause confusion and amusement. A circus manager and his gymnast friends are at the centre of the movie's story, which follows a large circus company's efforts to rekindle the public's waning interest in circus culture. The plot thickens when both sets of twins cross paths in the same city, causing a string of comedic mishaps.
On December 23, 2022, the movie was released in theatres; however, the audience was unimpressed. The critics criticise the film for having problems and lacking a comedic element. Cirkus had a huge budget of 150 crores, but it only managed to make about Rs 61.47 crore at the box office, which made it a huge commercial failure.
