BTS Nominated for MTV Awards: Popular South Korean boy group has been nominated in one category for this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards.
The nominees for Best Music Documentary and Best Musical Moment were announced by the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 7. The South Korean boy band has been nominated for Best Music Documentary which falls under a socially voted category.

The Break The Silence: The Movie documentary that BTS released in 2020 has been nominated for Best Music Documentary. The documentary directed by Park Jun Soo shows the behind-the-scenes and journey of the group’s Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour. Director Park Jun Soo has previously directed two other concert documentaries of BTS: Bring the Soul: The Movie (2019) and Burn the Stage: The Movie (2018).
Being the only Asian group nominated for this category, the South Korean boy band stands against several popular artists who have often dominated charts and sales in the music industry.
The other nominees for the Best Music Documentary include Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears, Ariana Grande: Excuse Me I Love You, Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell, The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, Tina, Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil and Shawn Mendes: In Wonder.
The fan voting for socially voted categories will be opened on May 10 on MTV’s Instagram stories and will close the next day on May 11. The results will be announced on the second night of the Award show- MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted. The award show will air on May 17 at 9 p.m. ET.
BTS is currently promoting their upcoming song Butter that is expected to be another worldwide hit much like their other songs Dynamite and Boy With Luv.
