Months After Her Conservatorship Was Axed; Britney Spears Marries Sam Asghari

The pop icon Britney Spears finally got the happily-ever-after she deserved on June 9, Thursday. Spears married her fiance Sam Asghari months after her conservatorship was terminated in November 2021 which prevented her from getting wed. The couple made their vows in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.

Spears met 28-year-old personal trainer Asghari in 2016 on the set of her music video for the song Slumber Party. The duo started dating soon after and the Grammy-winning star eventually made their relationship Instagram-official in January 2017. They got engaged in 2021, five years after they began dating.

Among immediate family, only her brother Bryan Spears was in attendance, reports stated. Her estranged parents Jamie & Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, were not among the attendees nor were her sons, Sean Preston (16) and Jayden James (15).

The star-studded guest list, however, included names Madonna, Paris Hilton, actor Drew Barrymore and designer Donatella Versace, who also designed her wedding dress. Spears' attorney Mathew Rosengart and backup dancers from her Las Vegas residency Piece of Me were also in attendance.

Spears, 40, last year told the court that her controversial 13-year-legal guardianship had abstained her from getting married and even having a baby. Shortly after her arrangement ended in November, she announced her pregnancy. However, the singer suffered a miscarriage and she announced it in May this year.

In an interview with BBC Persian, her fiance Asghari was quoted saying that the marriage and plans to have children should have happened nearly three years ago. The interview was filmed before she announced her pregnancy.

Spears' ex-husband causes a scene

Shortly before her wedding to Asghari, her Spears' former husband was restrained outside her home after he attempted to gatecrash the event. Jason Alexander who was married just for a couple of days to the singer in 2004 managed to enter the property and live-streamed himself as he got past the security and other folks.

He was later arrested by Ventura County police on a warrant from a different county for an undisclosed offence. The officers still had to decide whether trespassing charges would be pressed, reports stated.
