Bridgerton season 3 has been trending on google searches for a while now. With the success of previous seasons of Bridgertons, fans are curious to know more about the upcoming seasons of the show. Based on a series of books by Julia Quinn consisting of eight books, fans are sure that Bridgerton is all set to stay with plenty to watch for some time in the future.
Bridgerton is a widely loved series based on the Bridgerton series of books by Julia Quinn, Season 1 premiered back in December 2020 and became one of the most-watched series on Netflix. Bridgerton producer Shonda Rhimes recently hinted at more seasons of Bridgerton.
The show follows the life of Bridgertons, a family of eight siblings, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth, and a widowed matriarch Violet Bridgerton. The series of books follow each of the siblings in focus per book. Following suit Season 1 based on the book The Duke and I, was about the eldest daughter Daphne Bridgerton portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor, and her love story arc with Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett, played by Regé-Jean Page. Bridgerton season 2 based on The Viscount Who Loved Me focused on Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, and his love triangle with the Sharma sisters, Kate Sharma, the older sister of his fiancée, Edwina Sharma portrayed by new additions to the cast Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran, respectively.
In an interview Jonathan Bailey spoke about the storyline, stating- “You can understand why he’s drawn to both. And they’re both drawn to him in turn. It’s an interesting love triangle; it’s dangerous when it’s siblings. "
Bridgerton Season 3 Release Date, All We Know:
Netflix VP of global TV Bela Bajaria said, “Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”
With the success of the two seasons of Bridgerton, it shouldn't come as a surprise that it is renewed for more seasons. Netflix confirmed in April 2021, that Bridgerton is renewed for not just season 3, but also for season 4.
Shonda Rhimes, back in 2021 had said, “There are eight Bridgerton siblings, and as far as I’m concerned, there are eight Bridgerton seasons. And maybe more,” She has also additionally stated that her team went in very clearly saying that there are eight books, so there are going to be eight seasons. Bridgerton season 3 much like the previous two seasons, will be based on book three of the series, An Offer From a Gentleman, following the third eldest Benedict Bridgerton. It will focus more on his Cinderella-type relationship with Sophie Beckett, a servant, who is revealed to be the daughter of an Earl. They meet at Lady Bridgerton’s ball and thus begins their love story.
However, since Shonda Rhimes stated in an interview, that post-season 2, the team is going to shake things up a bit, fans speculate that the love story of Colin Bridgerton with Penelope Featherington might also be the focus of the third book. Rhimes also hinted at some creative changes from the books, in the upcoming seasons of Bridgerton.
All eight Bridgerton siblings namely Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony), Luke Thompson (Benedict), Luke Newton (Colin), Claudia Jessie (Eloise), Ruby Stokes (Francesca), Will Tilson (Gregory), and Florence Hunt (Hyacinth) will be returning to season three. As per reports, the Sharma sisters might also be returning in season 3, with Edwina possibly finding love in Queen's nephew, Prince Friedrich (Freddie Stroma). “
Bridgerton Season 3 Release Date:
No dates have been confirmed yet by the creators of the show or by Netflix for the release of Bridgerton season 3. Rhimes hinted that the fans might not have to wait too long for the arrival of season 3 stating “We’re already hard at work writing season 3, so we can have a shorter time between seasons.” Further details are awaited.
