Bridgerton Season 3 Cast: Replacements, New Additions And Lead Characters Confirmed!

Bridgerton Season 3 cast will be returning to Netflix soon with yet another season. Season 3 will be based the Julia Quinn's book series. Season 3 has been making news recently, for replacing an actor in the characters of Bridgerton sibling. Fans are anxiously waiting to know if they'll get to see the main cast return for the season 3

After being the most-watched and widely accepted series, the Bridgerton series was renewed for a third and fourth season in April 2021 right after season 2 was announced. Not following suit of the last two seasons, this season will steer away from the book series and will be mainly focusing mainly on yet another Bridgerton sibling, Colin Bridgerton. Apart from season 3 being in the works, reports suggest that fans can also expect a spin-off based on Queen Charlotte.

The new season will explore the love story between Colin and Penelope, the duo who have been part of both first and second season. Penelope's character is played by Nicola Coughlin and Colin's role is played by Luke Newton.

Bridgerton Season 3 Cast: The Story line So Far

Season 2 much like season 1 saw the return of the same core cast- all of the Bridgerton siblings, The queen, Danbury, and the Featheringtons, with an addition of the Sharma family as required by the story line. Charithra Chandran and Simone Ashley took up the roles of the Sharma sisters, playing the infamous roles of a complicated love triangle with the Viscount, Anthony Bridgerton played by Jonathan Bailey. Season 2 focused mainly on the life of the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton after Season 1 focused on Daphne and her love story Arc with the Duke of Hastings.

After the first two seasons following the chronology of the novel series, Shonda Rhimes, the series creator, has stated that this will not remain the case for the upcoming seasons and that she may shake things up. Revealing more about the plot of season 3 Shonda Rhimes said, “There are eight Bridgerton siblings, so we’re planning on following each one of the siblings’ romantic stories. We’re not necessarily going in order but we are going to be seeing each of the siblings and their stories.”  also hinting at Bridgerton being around for quite some time. Season 3 is said to revolve around the romantic drama between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton)

Bridgerton Season 3 Cast: Who Will Be Returning To The Regency Era Period Drama

Initially, reports stated that all eight Bridgerton siblings namely Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony), Luke Thompson (Benedict), Luke Newton (Colin), Claudia Jessie (Eloise), Ruby Stokes (Francesca), Will Tilson (Gregory), and Florence Hunt (Hyacinth) will be returning to season three. The Sharma sisters might also be returning in season 3, with Edwina possibly finding love in Queen’s nephew, Prince Friedrich (Freddie Stroma).

However new reports suggest that in season 3 of Bridgerton, Ruby Stokes won’t be returning as Francesca, as she has left to film her other project, Lockwood & Co.Hannah Dodd of the Anatomy of a Scandal fame will be seen playing Francesca from Season 3. Apart from that Chris Van Dusen, the show's creator, will also not be returning to the show, handing over the screenwriting reins to Jess Brownell for season three. Rumors also suggest that the Duke played by Rege Jean Page will also be returning to season 3. However, no official confirmation has been announced on the cast of the season yet. Season 3 is said to return to our screens in early 2023. More details are awaited.
