Netflix announced the release of season 2 of Bridgerton on January 2, 2021, in the form of Lady Whistledown’s pamphlets, stating "This author has been reliably informed that Lord Anthony Bridgerton intends to dominate the social season. I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of his romantic activities."

After the huge success of its first season, fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of the new season. With some exciting and some sad changes in the cast list of the series, the series is all set to make a comeback on the OTT platform on March 25 this year. The makers released two short teasers for the new season of the series before finally unveiling the trailer.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of Bridgerton new season release:
- Bridgerton is Shonda Rhimes' venture with Netflix, which was renewed not only for season 2, but seasons 3 and 4 as well, but filming hasn’t begun for either of the last two seasons yet.
- The season 2 of the show is based on Julia Quinn’s second novel from the best-selling Bridgerton series, titled The Viscount Who Loved Me.
- The new season will have fresh faces as cast members in prominent roles including Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charitha Chandran). The representation of an Indian family in a British show came as a pleasant surprise for Bridgerton's Indian fans.
- The storyline is reported to be, an arc heavily focusing on one of the Bridgerton siblings, Anthony Bridgerton. In the first season, the plot revolved around another Bridgerton sibling, Daphne Bridgerton and her love interest the Duke of Hastings.

- Unfortunately, even with the happy ending of Duke and Daphne's love story in season one, Duke of Hastings- Regé-Jean Page will not be returning as Simon Bassett, as his was reportedly a one-season storyline.
- The new season will most probably be giving an insight into the Featheringtons, given the cliffhangers in season 1. Actor Ben Miller, who portrays Lord Featherington teased the fans on how his character might be returning to the series, stating: "It’s possible, yeah...So yeah, everything’s possible. I hope they don’t wait for 10 seasons of Bridgerton to get to this!”
- Reports have revealed that Bridgerton's new season soundtrack will be showcasing the title track from Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. This season also possibly will make an attempt to pull off the Hindi romantic Bollywood masala in the British period romance series by including a haldi ceremomy and probably other Hindu wedding rituals as well.
- Rupert Evans will be joining the cast as the late Bridgerton and will be featured in Anthony's flashbacks, shedding more light on how his death shaped Anthony and his choices since Season 2 is mostly Anthony-centric.
- The show's creator, Van Dusen revealing more details stated that: "Lady Whistledown always manages to get the good gossip and viewers get to see exactly…how the sausage gets made." Hinting at a more intense gossip-filled season 2.
- The ">trailer of this season, released showcasing strong women characters, hinting at how much like season 1, season 2 will be heavily women-centric, ahead of the times feminist narrative, focusing more on their character development, and portrayal of female friendships, through Penelope and Eloise and we are here for it.
