Drama Series On Maharani Gayatri Devi: Popular screenwriter Bhavani Iyer took to Instagram to announce her next project will be a drama series on Maharani Gayatri Devi.
Iyer who is well known for her projects like Raazi, Lootera and Black, recently took to social media announcing that her next project will the biopic series on Maharani Gayatri Devi. She wrote, "It is an incredible pleasure and honour to tell the story of someone so ahead of her times, a leader, an icon of progressiveness, a true feminist and oh, also one of the most beautiful women in the world - the mesmerising Maharani Gayatri Devi. And there’s this amazing bunch of people that I get to know and love, on this journey."

The project is said to be backed by Juggernaut Productions and Mango People Media.
Earlier on February 18, it was announced that Maharani Gayatri Devi's grandchildren, Maharaj Devraj Singh and Rajkumari Lalitya granted life rights to make the series on their grandmother. They released a statement which read, "We believe that her life-story should to be told by people who are truly passionate about her; and whose vision is to create the show on a grand scale. We hope that they will do justice to inspire millions of audiences especially the younger generation who will get to learn about her life story and the older generations the world over who will get to recount her legend," India Today reported.

Maharani Gayatri Devi is known to be fiercely independent, bold, fashion icon and one of the most beautiful women in the world, and also the Queen of Jodhpur.
Born and then married into enormous wealth, Gayatri Devi spent her extraordinary life saying she was an ordinary woman. She moved far beyond the traditional restrictions and explored the unconventional — whether it was driving cars, riding horses or winning a seat in the Parliament. In 1962, she won the Jaipur constituency in the Lok Sabha in what was recorded as the world’s largest majority of votes, winning 192,909 votes out of 246,516 cast, as recorded by the Guinness Book of Records.
Gayatri Devi died aged 90 in 2009. The most glamorous Princess of her era, she has become the stuff of legend, a beacon of glamour who strove for modernity in an extraordinary time gone by.
