On Sunday, Salman Khan returned as the host of Bigg Boss 17. This season, 17 participants entered the house through the infamous glass doors, where they will be confined for 105 days.
The show also unveiled a new theme with the participants being grouped into three categories: 'Dil' (heart), 'Dimag' (mind), and 'Dum' (strength). Additionally, certain contestants will enjoy specific privileges.
Bigg Boss 17 Contestants
Mannara Chopra, Munawar Faruqui, Aishwarya Sharma, Neil Bhatt, Anurag Dobhal, Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Jigna Vora, Firoza Khan, Rinku Dhawan, Arun Srikanth Mashettey, Navid Sole, Sana Raees Khan, Soniya Bansal, Sunny Arya, Isha Malviya and Abhishek Kumar are the 17 contestants of BB17.
Actor Mannara Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, was the first contestant to enter the Bigg Boss. Munawar Faruqui, a prominent figure known for real-life legal issues and his appearance in the show Lock Upp, entertained viewers with a short stand-up act alongside Salman Khan.
Other participants include YouTubers Anurag Dobhal, an adventure motorcycling vlogger, and Sunny Arya, a comedian, former crime reporter Jigna Vora, who inspired the Netflix show Scoop, and criminal lawyer Sana Raees Khan.
According to India TV, Sana replaced the former Miss India Manasvi Mamgai. The report added that Manasvi had completed the shooting of the first episode but said that her deal is being renewed with the organisers and now she will probably join the show through wild card entry.
During the show, Sana disclosed that she played a pivotal role as Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer in the infamous Sheena Bora murder case. She also represented Aryan Khan's friend Avin Sahu in the drug scandal that occurred last year.
In the upcoming season of Bigg Boss 17, reports of several real couples participating have emerged; from Vicky Jain and Ankita Lokhande to Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma, there are many names included in the contestants list. Known for introducing unique twists every season, the show will feature numerous couples as contestants mingle with singles this year. While the show has seen real couples in the past, such as Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla, this season will bring nearly six couples competing against other contestants.
Bigg Boss 17 Welcomes Real-Life Couples
Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma
Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma, a beloved television couple, crossed paths while working on the TV series Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, and their love story began to unfold. Despite tying the knot a year and a half ago, they continued to share the screen as co-stars. However, in 2023, Sharma decided to take a break from the show and participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi, which has recently concluded. In the meantime, Neil Bhatt remained with the show until it underwent significant changes, including a new cast, which led to his departure.
Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain
Ankita Lokhande, renowned TV actor and businessman Vicky Jain, who married in 2021, has been quite visible in the public eye. Following their participation in the reality show Smart Jodi they are now allegedly gearing up for another TV venture on Bigg Boss 17. The actor gained fame through her role in Pavitra Rishta alongside the late Sushant Singh Rajput. Vicky Jain, not an actor by profession, appeared on Smart Jodi with his wife, to provide viewers with an unfiltered look at their relationship.
Isha Malviya and Abhishek Kumar
Isha Malviya and Abhishek Kumar, who previously worked together on the television series Udariyaan, filmed in Chandigarh, had a brief romantic involvement but are no longer together. However, reportedly they have come together for Bigg Boss 17, where they will interact with fellow contestants under constant 24/7 surveillance cameras, revealing their true selves. It will be intriguing to see how these former lovers navigate their past relationship dynamics within the confines of the show, similar to previous seasons that featured former couples.
Armaan Malik, a YouTuber known for his videos about his two wives, is also said to be making an appearance on Bigg Boss alongside his wife Payal Malik. They married in 2011 and have three kids. Additionally, TV actor Shrenu Parikh and her partner Akshay Mhatre are among the names that have been approached for the show.
