The film, Bhuj: The Pride of India, directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya is based on events from the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The motion poster reveals as part of operation Chenghiz Khan, Pakistan attacked the Bhuj airbase. The movie will be starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk, Sharad Kelkar, and Nora Fatehi.
What is the film based on?
Ajay Devgn will be playing the role of Vijay Karnik a member of the Indian Air Force. The film will tell the story of how the Bhuj airbase was reconstructed. The teaser suggests the Bhuj airfield was attacked by "92 bombs and 22 rockets". Vijay Karnik, the brave and strong soldier along with the help of 300 local women, reconstructed the entire Bhuj airbase so they could fight back and save the country.
In a Sneak Peek interview on Disney+ Hotstar, Ajay Devgn gives a glimpse into the movie. When Varun Dhawan asked what the film is about, Devgn said that it is based on true events from the Indo-Pak war of 1971. He is playing the role of Vijay, a strong leader. During the war, Bhuj was reportedly about to get a takeover and they were on the verge of losing the war. The story is about how with the help of few people the situation changed.

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt as Ranchordas Savabhai Rabari, Sonakshi Sinha as Sunderben Jetha Madharparya.

He said, “This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”
The film’s trailer will release on July 12.
