Bhuj Release Date And Time: Bhuj: The Pride of India is another war film all-set to release ahead of the Independence day weekend. It is helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya and features Ajay Devgn as Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, in pivotal roles. It also stars Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, Pranitha Subhash and Ihana Dhillon.
The film has the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and tells the story of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who was in charge of the Bhuj airport. He and his team rebuilt the IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from the local village Madhapar after an attack on the airstrip. The film will release on Disney+ Hotstar tomorrow.
The trailer of the film opens with an airstrike at the Bhuj airport and maintains the adrenaline rush throughout. Bhuj is set in 1971 when Pakistan attacked the airbase in the 14-day raid as part of Operation Chenghiz Khan.
Bhushan Kumar said about the production, “This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”
The film was like many other desired a theatrical release, however, the makers opted for a direct OTT release due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Actor Sonakshi Sinha was much appreciated for her role in Mission Mangal. Earlier in July the Dabbang actor Sinha launched The House Of Creativity in collaboration with her brothers Luv and Kush Sinha. This aims to encourage budding painters to exhibit their painting skills.
