The couple co-hosts Hunarbaaz and The Khatra Khatra Show on Colors TV. After giving birth to a son on April 3, the comedian went on a maternity leave. She has, however, returned to work less than two weeks after giving birth.

On Friday, Bharti posed for the cameras as she arrived at work. In a video, recorded by a paparazzo account, Bharti revealed that she became tearful when she had to leave her kid at home to meet her work obligations. She went on to say, "Lekin main bahot royi hu aaj. 12 din ka hai baby, but kaam kaam hai. (I cried a lot today. The baby is just 12 days old. But work is work)."

While her supporters celebrate her and refer to her as the world's most powerful woman, with remarks like "She is really, really hardworking," other netizens criticise her decision, saying, "But isn't it true that a woman must stay at home for 40 days after giving birth?" Some people made fun of her and referred to her as' Laalchi'(greedy) saying, "Bachha sambhal le bhn phle apna, sari bhikmari tumhi ko aa rhi h jese, ise commitment ka naam mt do ye sirf or sirf lalach h tumhara.(Take care of your child first, then it is just your greed and no work commitments.)"
