This romantic thriller, that deals with issues like interfaith love and honour killing also features Sanya Malhotra and Bobby Deol. Vikrant Massey began his career as a television actor with the musical comedy show Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. However, it was his roles as Shyam on daily soap Balika Vadhu, Dharam from Dharam Veer and Ayaan Ahmed Khan in Qubool Hai that made him a household name. Massey made his Bollywood debut with the 2013-film Lootera which is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and features Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.
Massey was in news recently as he tied the knot with his girlfriend of seven years, Sheetal Thakur, on February 18, 2022.

The film, powered by top-notch performances by its leads deals with philosophical questions on life and death, albeit in a dark comedy approach.

A Death in the Gunj
A Death in the Gunj follows the story of Shutu (Vikrant Massey) as he is in conflict with his ideas of masculinity and what is accepted in society. The young boy follows the path of self-realisation during his journey on a family trip. Directed by Konkona Sen Sharma, the film attacks the societal notions of toxic masculinity how deep-rooted such ideas are in our society. The film also features actors like Tanuja, Om Puri, Jim Sarbh, Ranvir Shorey, Kalki Koechlin and Tillotama Shome.
Dil Dhadkne Do
Although Massey does not play a lead role in the film, his role is quite prominent crucial to how the plot of the film unfolds. The movie revolves around the millionaire Mehra family who embark on a cruise trip to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kamal (Anil Kapoor) and Neelam (Shefali Shah) Mehra along with their family and friends. Released directly on OTT, Haseen Dillruba is a romantic thriller that follows the story of Rani Kashyap (Taapsee Pannu) who is suspected of murdering her husband Rishu (Vikrant Massey). While the movie romanticises toxic masculinity and violence in love to some extent, the performance given by Massey in the film is quite commendable.
Chhapaak
Chhapaak is based on the real-life story of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agrawal. The film stars actor Deepika Padukone as an acid-attack survivor Malti Aggarwal and Vikrant Massey as her partner Amol Dwivedi. The film starts with the investigation of the attack, the consequent court proceeding, medical treatment as well as the emotional distress that Malti goes through, and how she overcomes the tragedy to live her life.
