Saayoni Ghosh films: Bengali actor Saayoni Ghosh has now ventured into politics as she was appointed as the president of the Trinamool Congress’ youth wing on Saturday. The young actor had earlier contested for the West Bengal elections from the Asansol Dakshin constituency in March but was defeated.
The 28-year-old actor started off her career with her debut telefilm Ichhe Dana. After getting her big break in the comedy film Natobar Not Out, she featured in numerous mainstream films and television shows such as Shotru, Rajkahini, and Pratidwandi. Ghosh is also a singer and has collaborated with Ash King for the song Kothin featured in the 2012 film Bojhena Shey Bojhena.

Rajkahini
The Srijit Mukherji directorial period drama is set in 1947 when the British passed a bill regarding the partition of Bengal. The decision that divided the two nations also majorly affects a brothel, through which the border runs. The brothel which is housing to many women and their boss Begum Jaan has to be evacuated to execute the decision made.
Saayoni Ghosh essays the role of Koli, one of the sex workers. The story makes these women’s stories the central part and narrates the political tension that ensues riots in both nations.
Meghnad Badh Rahasya
The 2017 suspense thriller is loosely based on the Meghnad Badh Kavya. The story spans out when a popular author Professor Asimavo Bose disappears under mysterious circumstances. In the process to find the person who could harm him, his family members, who also had some ulterior motive, come under suspicion. The only lead to this mystery is a copy of Meghnad Badh Kavya which the professor receives as an unnamed gift on his birthday.

The 2019 film starring Bengali stars like Saswata Chatterjee and Soumitra Chatterjee was the directorial debut of Nabarun Sen. Saayoni Ghosh essays the role of a psychiatrist in the film which revolves around a writer suffering from dissociative identity disorder.

Mayer Biye
A single mother struggles to bring up her daughter, played by Saayoni. As she grows up the daughter gets wrapped up in her own life which leaves the mother lonely at times. A series of events follow when the daughter devises a plan to marry off her mother. Through this ">film, the audience is made to question the modern-day relationship we share with our parents and how we view them.
