All You Need To Know About Bachchhan Paandey: Cast, Plot, Release Date

Bachchhan Paandey cast consists of some of the prominent names from the Bollywood industry such as Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon. The movie is all set to release in theatres in 2022.

Bachchhan Paandey is an upcoming action-comedy helmed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is the remake of Jigarthanda, a 2014 Tamil language film. It was earlier supposed to be a remake of another Tamil movie, Veeram but the makers reportedly altered the script.

As per reports, Jigarthanda was itself inspired by another South Korean film titled The Dirty Carnival released in 2008. The film will be having a theatre release and its trailer was released in February 2022.

Bachchhan Paandey will feature Akshay Kumar in the lead role of Bachchhan Paandey, a ruthless and scary gangster of Baagwa. It also stars Kriti Sanon as Myra Devekar, a budding director, who is given a task by her producer of coming up with an engaging story of a gangster in order to produce a film. Excited about her new project, Myra decides to study the life of a real life gangster to make her script realistic and commercially engaging. She ends up knowing about Bachchhan Paandey and decides that he will be the protagonist of her film.

Kriti is helped by Vishu, played by Arshad Warsi, who accompanies her to Baagwa and both end up getting caught while secretly watching over the gangster's ways. And thus begins a series of dangerous, often comical events, while they convince him to feature in the film. The movie is expected to have comical scenes by much celebrated actors such as Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, Prateik Babbar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles.

The movie was initially set for a release date on December 25, 2020 but was shifted to January 22, 2021 because Aamir Khan insisted as he had decided the date for the release of his film Laal Singh Chaddha. However, because of the pandemic, both the films were delayed. The shooting of Bachchhan Paandey took place in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan between January 2021 to July 2021. The movie will release in theatres on March 18, 2022.
