Anupamaa Prequel 'Namaste America' Teaser Out, Reveals Release Date

Anupama: Namaste America is a prequel to the popular television series Anupamaa, and it stars Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey. The series trailer was released today, which also revealed its release date.

The first trailer for Anupama: Namaste America has been unveiled by the show's creators. The show transports the audience 17 years into Anupamaa's past. It transports the spectator to a time when she wished to visit America in order to fulfil a childhood desire. The teaser begins with Anupamaa's family members debating who will care for her children if she moves to America.

Sarita Joshi also plays an important role in the series. She is well known for playing Godavari Labhshankar Thakkar, also known as Baa, in the Star Plus blockbuster dramedy Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, for which she received numerous awards. In the teaser of Anupama: Namste America, she replies to all the family members that a father has an equal responsibility to care for his children.

The teaser is about 45 seconds long and shows a premise of a middle class Gujarati family's living room in the year 2005, where there are young Anupamaa and young Vanraj Shah (Sudhanshu Pandey).

Unlike the original series, the prequel will not be broadcast on television but instead be available on the OTT platform. The online streamer shared the update with a caption reading, "Wohi Anupama. Par kahani ekdum nayi. Jaanne ke liye dekhiye, Hotstar Specials Anupama: Namaste America streaming from April 25." There will be eleven episodes dedicated completely to her past. On April 25, the series will air on Disney Plus Hotstar.

Based on the trailer, the series appears to concentrate on Anupamaa and her dream. However, the dream that drove her to leave her family and go to America will be revealed later in the series. Meanwhile, Pandey mentioned in an interview that she(Anupamaa) wants to participate in the competition since it is her ambition to compete in a dance competition in America. In the prequel, she is shown to be a trained dancer.

Ganguly has also shared the same update on her social media, while once in a statement, she remarked, "Anupamaa is a character that has seen me evolve as an actor and a woman. It gives me great pleasure to see Hotstar Specials presents Anupamaa: Namaste America, which is the first show to air concurrently with a live television show."
