This marks Kirron Kher’s first appearance in public after it was revealed by her family that she has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. The politician is currently undergoing treatment for the illness. Read more on that here.
Anupam Kher had previously confirmed in April that Kirron was doing well as she is looked after by "phenomenal" doctors. “She’s always been a fighter and takes things head on,” Anupam tweeted.
A week after revealing his wife's diagnosis, he had also confirmed that he had quit the NBC show, New Amsterdam, where he played the character of Dr Vijay Kapoor. “I am grateful to the audience for their love, support, and good wishes, particularly for my wife, Kirron, at this time. I hope you all will continue to join me on my journey and future projects,” he wrote in a parting message to the show and its fans.
