Based on the released trailer, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal appears to revolve significantly around the dynamic between a father and his son.

Animal Trailer:

In the trailer, Ranbir Kapoor portrays an intense and almost possessive devotion to his father. His role depicts fierce protectiveness, as he strongly confronts anyone obstructing his love for his father. Notably, Kapoor has embodied his most intense persona yet, depicted as ruthlessly lethal, wielding knives, axes, and machine guns (exactly how Reddy hinted at making the most violent film). Apart from Reddy himself, the teaser hinted at the same, but now the trailer accentuates the transformation of Kapoor's character, shaped by a tumultuous upbringing marked by violence, for which his father, portrayed by Anil Kapoor, is responsible.

No matter who's to blame, the aftermath affects everyone—the hero, the villain, and the leading lady. Two songs hinted at Ranbir's deep love for his father Balbir Singh played by Anil Kapoor and his affection for his ladylove Geetanjali played by Rashmika Mandanna. Yet, the trailer unveils a different side, showcasing a character seeking revenge. And guess who's he after? It’s Bobby Deol, the antagonist.

The narrative seems to be largely centred on possessiveness, obsession, and violence as hallmarks of masculinity. However, it seems this time there's an attempt to camouflage these negative traits under the guise of love for the father.

Now, only the film will offer insights into whether it downplays the validation of glorified traditional masculinity. It's releasing on December 1.
