Ananya Panday NCB summons: Actor Ananya Panday reached the Mumbai office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Thursday around 4 PM, for questioning in a drugs case. This comes after certain WhatsApp chats allegedly linked her to Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who is presently in NCB custody in the same case.

Panday was accompanied by her father, actor Chunky Pandey, and her legal counsel to the NCB office. She arrived two hours later than the NCB summons timed for 2 PM. During her absence, spokespersons for the anti-drugs agency relayed to the media that they hadn't received communication from Panday on whether she would appear for the questioning or not.

The case involving Khan has captured headlines since the 23-year-old's detention after NCB raided a Mumbai-Goa cruise on October 2. He was one of eight accused arrested at the time; others named included models Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. The Mumbai High Court is due to hear Khan's bail plea on October 26, following the rejection of his appeals in the special court that was hearing his case.
On Thursday morning, Shah Rukh Khan made his first public appearance since his son was arrested in the drugs case. He made a short visit to the Arthur Road prison where his son is being held.

Panday, who made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Student of The Year 2 in 2019, is said to be friends with Khan and her younger sister, Suhana. As per reports, the NCB summoned her on the basis of alleged chats found on Khan's WhatsApp.

The NCB said in court that no drugs were found on Khan on the cruise raid but revealed his friend Merchant was carrying six grams of charas concealed in his shoes.
The Mumbai special court that rejected Khan's bail plea on October 20 held, "Whatsapp chats prima facie reveal that Aryan Khan is dealing in illicit drug activities of narcotics substances on a regular basis. Therefore, it cannot be said he is not likely to commit a similar offence while on bail."
Reports suggest certain other young Bollywood stars are under the radar of NCB in connection to the drugs case and their names may be revealed soon.
