Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Ananya Panday’s upcoming cyberthriller, CTRL. The film features Ananya in a compelling role as Nella, a young woman who entrusts her life to an AI platform after enduring a painful breakup.

Seeking solace and escape, she signs up on a platform named CTRL, which offers an AI assistant that promises to manage her life and ensure her happiness. However, things take a dark turn when Nella asks the AI to "erase" her ex-boyfriend from her life after discovering his betrayal. Soon after, he mysteriously disappears, raising chilling questions about the real-world impact of the AI’s interventions.
The trailer hints at a gripping narrative exploring the dangerous consequences of surrendering control to technology. Co-starring Vihaan Samat, CTRL promises an intriguing mix of suspense and drama as it navigates the blurred lines between digital manipulation and human emotions. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the film is set to premiere on Netflix on October 4.
Motwane, renowned for films like Udaan, Lootera, and Trapped, aims to redefine how we view our digital lives. He explains that the film explores whether we truly control our digital selves or if we are being controlled by them. "That's the answer 'CTRL' tries to explore. For a concept as new-age as this, we not only needed a cast who lives such a life, but a medium like Netflix that's relevant", he said.
Ananya also described CTRL as an "engaging and impactful" film that resonates with today’s tech-driven world. She believes that Netflix is the ideal platform to present such a compelling narrative, given the widespread use of technology.

The actor, who was last seen in Call Me Bae and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and also made a special appearance in Dharma Productions' Bad Newz, which stars Triptii Dimri. She also has upcoming projects, including Shankara which is currently in production. Meanwhile, Vihaan Samat, known for his role in Netflix's Mismatched, is collaborating with Ananya for the second time, as he appeared in Call Me Bae.
