Anand Pandit Chehre producer: Actor Rhea Chakraborty made an appearance in the trailer of Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi-starrer Chehre. However, she was noticeably missing from its posters and teaser.
In a recent interview, producer Anand Pandit accepted that the makers did not want to take "undue advantage of her situation" for the commercial benefit of the film.
"That’s why we decided that for the second poster, we won’t mention her name," the producer revealed about the Rumi Jaffery film to The Indian Express. He further mentioned that it wasn't their motive to gain publicity for their film with Chakraborty's current situation. "She’s gone through enough turmoil in her life, and we didn’t want to add more ripples. We got her into the picture, only when she was comfortable," he added.
Claiming that Chakraborty's done a good job, Pandit also assured that she was signed way before the whole controversy and "she completed her part satisfactorily".
As per reports, Chakraborty plays a key role in Chehre. However, she was nowhere to be found in the first half of the official trailer and mostly remained unnoticed in the shadows for the majority of the part.
It was earlier speculated that the Jalebi actor has been dropped from the film following the controversy surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The first poster of the film was unveiled on February 23 which did not feature her and also did not credit her on the cast list. Read Why is Rhea Chakraborty missing from Chehre Teaser?
Explaining why Chakraborty is absent from the film’s posters, Pandit had earlier told Mid-Day, “We did not react because we have decided not to talk about Rhea at this moment. We will answer questions regarding her at the right time. At this juncture, there is nothing more I can say.”
