Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan turns 80 today and his daughter Shweta Bachchan and granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda took to social media to share their heartfelt tributes to him.
Shweta Bachchan took to Instagram and shared a series of photographs of her and her father. She took a trip down memory lane and shared old photographs of herself as a child with her father holding her hand. She also shared photos of her father standing with his late parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.

Shweta also shared more recent images of her with her father along with a photograph of him reading a holy scripture during a puja ceremony.
In the caption, the author shared the lyrics to the song Tu Jhoom by Abida Parveen Naseebo Lal and ended her note to her father with, “To my grand old man Happy 80th Birthday”.
Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Nanda also took to social media and shared a throwback picture of herself as a child with her “nana”. In the caption, she shared lines from Agnipath, the poem written by her great-grandfather, Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
She ended her tribute by saying, “There never has, and never will be anyone like you. Happy birthday nana.”
The veteran actor currently hosts the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, the show marked the occasion of his birthday when his wife Jaya and son Abhishek surprised him on the set of the show. The episode is set to air tonight at 9 pm on Sony.
Family members and fans weren’t the only people to wish the actor a happy birthday, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to social media to share his well wishes. Modi tweeted, “A very happy 80th birthday to Amitabh Bachchan Ji.”
Modi described him as one of India’s “most remarkable film personalities” and added that the veteran actor had “enthralled and entertained audiences across generations”. He signed off by saying, “May he lead a long and healthy life”.
