Ameesha Patel fraud case: Actor Ameesha Patel has been taken to court by an investor on allegations of a cheque bounce fraud worth 2.5 crores. After hearing the petition filed by the complainant, the Jharkhand High Court has demanded a written response to be kept ready in the next two weeks by both parties.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, the petitioner has claimed the Patel got him to invest in a film, which she later refused to do. He claims that he met Ameesha Patel back in 2017, and the actor made him invest in her upcoming film. The petitioner alleges that he then transferred Rs. 2.5 crores in the actor’s bank account. However, the actor neither proceeded with the film nor returned his money.
After he got to know that the film had been shelved, the petitioner reportedly asked for his money to be returned. He claims that the actor gave him a cheque that bounced later.
The next hearing in this case is scheduled to be held in two weeks.
Ameesha Patel was in news last year in October, when she accused Lok Janshakti Party candidate Prakash Chandra of misbehaving with her, while she was campaigning for him, during the Bihar assembly election. Patel accused Chandra of threatening and misbehaving with her while she was in Daudnagar, Bihar.
"I was so scared for my life and for the team of people that were with me that I had no choice but to quietly play along till I safely reached Bombay.” She further added, “Even as I arrived back last evening in Mumbai, he started sending threatening calls and messages and asking me to speak highly of him as I had been honest about my terrible experience with him," the actor said later.
