Alia Bhatt Wishes Her "Mama Birdie" On Her 65th Birthday By Sharing Her Old Photo

Soni Razdan birthday: Amongst a list of messages wishing Soni Razdan on her birthday, is an adorable throwback photograph and a daughter's appreciation to her mother. Alia Bhatt posted a picture with her mother on October 25 calling Razdan, "her inspiration and strength for life."

The Hindi film actor with many critically acclaimed films like Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi took to social media for wishing her mother, Soni Razdan on her 65th birthday.

She wrote, "Happy Birthday Ma, my moment of joy, peace and sparkle the world has to offer!!! Love you little mama birdie." Along with this, she posted a photograph of young Soni sitting with her back to the camera.

Razdan has critically acclaimed films like Mandi, Saaransh, Gumrah, to her credit. She got married to the filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt in 1986. The couple is parents to two daughters - Alia and Shaheen Bhatt.

Not only is Soni a talented actor but also an empathetic mother. In an interview with Indian Express, she called them "young bright girls" who know what they want. In the same interview, she said that it is okay if they do not share everything with her and choose to share more with their friends, "Also, with kids these days, they don't really share much about their issues with their families. They would rather go to their friends for advice and I don't blame them for that. So, whatever I get to know is quite late and so my conversations with them about their relationships are usually in hindsight," she said.

Not just this, Soni also played Alia Bhatt's mother in Raazi. The 2018 film starring Vicky Kaushal was a huge box office hit telling us the story of an Indian spy girl in Pakistan.

Alia debuted as an actor in a Karan Johar film, Student of the Year. Even though the film received flake, Bhatt made a warm space for herself as an actor in Hindi cinema and chose to do an array of roles far away from the one she debuted with.

Some of her upcoming projects include Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukherji. Apart from this, she will make her debut in south Indian cinema with RRR, a film by SS Rajamouli.
