Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer Ammu is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 19. The streaming service made the same announcement on social media on Thursday, October 6. The streaming platform also posted the teaser to offer the audience an idea of what to expect from the movie.

Actor Aishwarya Lekshmi is preparing for the release of Ammu after her appearance in the Mani Ratnam-directed Ponniyin Selvan. According to the film's official press release, it is a drama-thriller about a woman named Ammu, who undergoes a thrilling change from being a victim of domestic abuse to giving her abusive husband a major payback.

Amazon Prime Video released a teaser on October 5 to spark fans' interest. The titular character is introduced to the audience in the clip. She claims that her relatives think, she is a mischievous person. She goes on to say that she, like many others, grew up wanting to marry a good person. As soon as it's apparent that something is wrong in her life, the clip quickly turns dismal. Watch the teaser here.

Simha and Naveen Chandra are actors who also feature in it. Ammu is a thriller film, written and directed by Charukesh Sekar. Under the Stone Bench Films label, well-known Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj produced it.

Subbaraj said in a statement, "Ammu is a movie that is more than just a thriller about revenge. The drama in the film, along with the unpredictable nature of life, will have audiences on the edge of their seats. Some of the top actors in the industry, including Aishwarya, Naveen, and Simha, give it their all in this performance. I applaud Charukesh Sekar for bringing this interesting and important story to life while retaining its emotional core."

This is Aishwarya Lekshmi's first film after Ponniyin Selvan, which hit theatres on September 30. Mani Ratnam was the movie's director. The key actors included Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Chiyaan Vikram.
On October 19, Ammu is scheduled to debut on Amazon Prime Video. The film will be released in five languages Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
