The Tribeca Festival has unveiled its line-up, and the esteemed jury has chosen Adipurush to have its world premiere at the festival. Kriti Sanon announced the news with a poster, stating, "I am beyond pleased and honoured that Adipurush will be shown at the famous TribecaFestival on 13 June 2023 in New York! "I'll see you there..." On June 16, the film will be released in India and worldwide.
The Tribeca Festival provides a platform that unites artists with a varied and diverse audience to appreciate storytelling in its many forms. One featured film at the festival is Adipurush, which is being promoted as a visually stunning experience and will be presented in 3D as a "Midnight Offering".

Last year, when the teaser of the magnum opus was released in October, depicting Hindu deities, and offering substandard visual effects, the film stirred up a controversy, leading to calls for a boycott. Saif's portrayal of the character Lankesh in the movie received criticism for the perceived Islamization of the character due to the demon king's beard and a buzz cut. Initially scheduled to release in theatres on 11 August 2022, the film's release date was postponed to 2023.
