This SonyLiv upcoming web show is the Indian adaptation of Israeli show Fauda. The show has begun its shooting phase and is expected to release by the end of 2022. The story will be similar to the 2020 Israeli show but will be based on the India Pakistan relations in the backdrop of Kashmir and Special Covert Operations Unit in 2017.
Criminal Justice
Released in April 2019, this Disney Plus Hotstar series starring Pankaj Tripathi, Rucha Inamdar, Vikrant Massey and Anupriya Goenka is based on British show of the same name that released in 2008. The show follows the journey of a middle class man through the criminal justice system who is accused of a murder he did not commit.
Hostages
This 2019 web drama show stars Ronit Roy, Tisca Chopra, Surya Sharma, Malhaar Rathod and Shibani Dandekar. The show is about the struggle of a doctor who is caught in a difficult choice when the only way of saving her children who are held hostages is to kill a prominent political figure. The show is based on an Israeli series of the same name.
Mind The Malhotras
Starring Cyrus Sahukar, Mini Mathur, Anandita Pangis and Nikki Sharma, this 2019 comedy web show on Amazon Prime by Dia Mirza is based on La Famiglia, an Israeli comedy show. The story features the struggle of Shefali and Rishabh Malhotra to avoid divorce as they face marital issues and seek professional help to overcome them.
The Office
The iconic American comedy series The Office had an Indian remake helmed by Disney Plus Hotstar in 2019. The show starred Mukul Chadda, Sayandeep Sengupta, Samridhi Dewan and others in the roles of the iconic characters from the original sitcom. The show was not able to live up to the expectations of the audience.
Call My Agent: Bollywood
The French comedy series based on talent management firm and agents Call My Agent was made into an Indian version that released in 2021. The show starred Ahana Kumra, Ayush Mehra, Rajat Kapoor and Soni Razdan as Mumbai talent agents that handle the schedules, drama, egos and tantrums of the stars associated with their company.
Aarya
Sushmita Sen led crime thriller series Aarya is the Indian adaptation of the 2010 Dutch series Penoza. The show also features Sikander Kher, Ankur Bhatia and Chandrachur Singh and is about Aarya Sareen who is happily leading her life until her husband is killed mysteriously which reveals her husband's illegal business and drags her into mafia world to save her family.
Out Of Love
This 2019 web series starring Rasika Duggal, Purab Kohli, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Himanshi Choudhry in pivotal roles is the story of a wife who gets obsessed with finding the mistress of her husband after she finds a hair on his clothes which leads her to the web of lies he has been telling her. The show is based on the 2015 BBC One show Doctor Foster.
Rudra
Starring Ajay Devgn in lead role, this thriller series on Disney Plus Hotstar is the Indian adaptation of 2010 British series Luther. The Indian adaptation follows the story of DCP Rudraveer Pratap Singh who is suspended for breach of conduct for a few months after a suspect he was pursuing end up in a coma. He restores his duties to eradicate crime from Mumbai.
