Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been at the centre of separation rumours, which have been circulating widely on social media. Despite these speculations, Abhishek recently took the opportunity to praise his wife for her unwavering dedication to their daughter, Aaradhya, and her commitment to their family.
'I'm Lucky': Here’s Why Abhishek Bachchan Thanked Aishwarya Rai
For the promotion of his latest film I Want to Talk, Abhishek recently gave an interview to The Hindu and spoke fondly of Aishwarya’s decision to step away from her acting career to raise their children. Abhishek shared how his own mother, Jaya Bachchan, made similar sacrifices when he was born. "My mother stopped acting when I was born because she wanted to spend time with the children. We never felt the void of Dad not being around. I think at the end of the day, after work, you come home at night," he recalled. He expressed his gratitude for the strong foundation his mother laid by choosing to prioritise family over her career.
The actor also drew a parallel between his mother’s sacrifices and those of his wife. He reflected on the sacrifices Aishwarya had made in their own household. “In my household, I’m lucky I get to go out and make movies, but I know that Aishwarya is at home with Aaradhya, and I thank her immensely for that, but I don’t think the kids look at it that way. They don’t look at you as a third person; they look at you as the first person,” Abhishek remarked.
The couple, who married in April 2007, has always been in the spotlight. They welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in November 2011. While there have been no official statements from either of them regarding the ongoing divorce rumours, Abhishek’s words seem to affirm his respect and admiration for Aishwarya’s role as a mother and partner.
They marked their 17th wedding anniversary on April 20, 2024, by sharing a photo of themselves together with their daughter and included a heart emoji in the post.
On the professional front, Abhishek and Aishwarya have shared the screen in several films. Their notable collaborations include Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Dhoom 2 (2006), Umrao Jaan (2006), Guru (2007), Sarkar Raj (2008), and Raavan (2010).
