Recently, Aayush Sharma and his wife Arpita Khan hosted a lavish Eid party that was attended by all the top Bollywood stars, including Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut, and others. Sharma is a known actor, and while Arpita is not associated with the movies, she is a well-known public figure and is frequently spotted by her brother Salman Khan's side.
Aayush Sharma recently spoke at a Ted Talk about the constant trolling and remarks his wife, Arpita Khan Sharma, has to go through due to her weight and dark skin. The star sister, who is not a celebrity, deals with a lot of online vitriol, and her husband mentioned it in his speech, which is now going viral.
Aayush Sharma On Arpita Khan Being Trolled
According to Aayush Sharma, Khan is frequently made fun of for being overweight and dark-skinned. He said that because she is renowned, she is constantly targeted because she shouldn't be so fat and should dress a certain way. Every time her picture appears, he continued, people are quick to point out how dark she is. He continued by saying that "beauty is no longer internal" and that "people want to see you beautiful externally" rather than seeking out your inner beauty.
He is proud of his wife, he continued, because she is at ease in her own skin. She is proud of who she is and acknowledges, in private, that she is not a celebrity and has not done anything to become famous. She told him, "I'm never going to be in front of the camera, so I'm just going to be who I am and live my life the way I'm going to live it."
Ironically, he was questioned and criticised about the female leads in his and Salman Khan's films, who have flawless bodies to flaunt and milky white skin. Fans called attention to the actors' representation of double standards in the video that has been making the rounds on the internet. Some people went so far as to say that Sharma was caught up in his own words because they read too much into his speech and came to the conclusion that he never once called his wife beautiful or agreed that celebrities support beauty standards and, at some point, set those standards.

One user commented mentioning how ironic it was that the film industry had established certain standards for beauty, "Guys, guys, guys. Celebrities create beauty standards and people follow that." Another user who tried to read too much into the words wrote, "Except he doesn’t think she is beautiful. He thinks she is beautiful inside. Watch again… Such bull sh*t, self-promoting video."
On the internet, there are still mixed reactions to the video. Many people stood with the actor. One user even mentioned that she might switch off the comments section due to the negativity.
