Aaliyah Qureishi recently found herself in a life-threatening situation while in Thailand. During her stay in Thailand, a distressing event occurred when a 14-year-old individual opened fire inside a shopping mall, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives.
Aaliyah Qureishi Shares Ordeal
Qureishi shared a detailed account of the situation through a social media post, emphasising how a delay at an ATM proved to be a stroke of luck, preventing her and her friends from coming face-to-face with the shooter and ensuring their safety.
To provide insight into her experience, Qureishi posted several photos from that fateful day, including some captured just moments before the shooting and others taken as they made their escape.
Qureishi reflected on the stark contrast between real life and action films. While in action movies, one might bravely dive into a perilous battle to rescue others, the reality is quite different. She recounted how the day began on a relaxed note, playing with dogs, but took a dramatic turn as they found themselves fleeing from a mall shooting, drenched in rain, and desperately searching for a tuk-tuk to get home. Life, she emphasised, can be incredibly unpredictable.
She mused about the seemingly insignificant delays in their day, particularly the extra time spent at the currency exchange before heading up an escalator. Qureishi questioned what might have transpired if they hadn't encountered those delays and had only spent five minutes instead of ten. “What if we had not had problems, and spent only 5 minutes instead? Where would we have been at the time of the shooting? In the store, closer to him?”
She pondered the idea that there might be divine timing at play, likening it to the Burnt Toast Theory, where something initially annoying could turn out to be a hidden blessing, potentially even saving lives.
