83 release date: All You Need To Know About The Deepika Ranveer Starrer

83 release date: The film 83 revolves around the Indian  cricket team which lifted the first cricket world cup for the country with Kapil Dev as its captain. 83, which is based on this historic victory is directed by Kabir Khan and is all set for a theatrical release.

The film has an ensemble cast with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhavan, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Pankaj Tripathi amongst others. Punjabi singers Harrdy Sandhu and Ammy Virk are also part of the much awaited film.

83 Trailer

The trailer was released on 30 November on YouTube and has garnered  72,549,502 views so far. The trailer sets the tone of how India which was considered the most underdog team at the beginning of the championship emerged as the victors. India played the final against West Indies on June 25, 1983.

The trailer of 83 was also played on the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Both Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were present to watch it.

83 Release Date 

The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

In an interview, singer and actor Harrdy Sandhu who plays the role of Madan Lal in the film said in an interview to ANI, “I’m very glad the film is finally close to releasing. We had been waiting for a long time, do saal nikal gaye (two years have gone by). I had a word with Ranveer the other day and he has seen the film and he told me that it came out amazing.”

Where to watch 83

The movie will have a theatrical release. According to some reports, Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar have acquired the post-theatrical digital rights of the film.
