Sajid Khan's Participation In Season 16
Indian filmmaker Sajid Khan was accused of sexual misconduct by many female celebrities during the #MeToo movement in India. Indian model Paula, actors Saloni Chopra, Aahana Kumra, Mandana Karimi and Rachel White and a journalist raised their voices against the harassment they experienced at the hands of the Indian filmmaker. However, despite all this, he was welcomed in Bigg Boss as a contestant. Though he had served his punishment, his inclusion is deemed wrong and against women who suffer because of such men.
Armaan Kohli Assaulting Sofia Hayat
British actor and singer Sofia Hayat filed a complaint in 2013 against her season 7 co-housemate and actor Armaan Kohli for allegedly harassing her during the shooting of the show. She mentioned in her complaint that she was manhandled and subjected to indecent language during her stay with Armaan Kohli and other contestants at a bungalow in Lonavala where the shoots were scheduled. Kohli was arrested from the sets of the show.
Kushal Tandon and Tanisha Mukherjee's Fight
Kushal Tandon and Tanisha Mukherjee had an ugly fight during season 7 after Mukherjee pushed Tandon. Kushal Tandon talked a lot of nasty things about her and even body-shamed her. He also tried to escape from Bigg Boss house by climbing the wall. During the weekend, host Salman Khan scolded Kushal Tandon for his violent behaviour but said nothing to Tanisha Mukherjee. There was a lot of controversy around the fact that Khan sided with Mukherjee despite her wrongs.
Swami Om Throwing Urine On Housemates
Season 10 contestant Swami Om got really disgusting during a task and to attack the opponent team, he brought his urine in a glass and threw it at some of the housemates. The urine went on contestants Rohan Mehra and Bani J who got really annoyed and disgusted. Later Swami Om was evicted from the house and went on to talk many bad things about the show and host Salman Khan in interviews outside the house.
Pratik Sehajpal Breaking Bathroom Lock While Vidhi Pandya Was Showering
In season 15, contestant Pratik Sehajpal broke the washroom lock while Vidhi Pandya was having a shower inside. She came out complaining and the housemates also told him that it was inappropriate but he was adamant that his intentions were not wrong and he did that only for the game. The incident was a topic of discussion among the audience as some criticised him while some took his side.
Zubair Khan's Attempt To Kill Himself
In season 11, contestant Zubair Khan attempted to end his life and ate some pills in the Bigg Boss house after which he was hospitalised. The incident happened after Salman Khan scolded him for his abusive language against female contestants in the house. He claimed that Salman Khan threatened him and told him that once he left the house, he won't be getting any work. Host Khan also called him a dog and later apologised sarcastically to the dogs of the world.
Inclusion Of Pakistani Actors
Season 4 of the show included Pakistani contestants like actor Veena Malik and actor and host Begum (Ali) Saleem. The inclusion was found wrong by activists of the Shiv Sena political party who protested against the show. The season also faced criticism for indecent exposure on national television and the Information and Broadcast Ministry shifted the show's broadcast time to 11:30 pm. Later, the Bombay High Court allowed the show to broadcast in prime time.
