Aditya helps her get united with the love of her life Anshuman. He, however, ditches her leaving her heartbroken. The movie shows how Aditya now sets on a mission to reunite Geet with her family members. In the process, the two fall in love with each other.
2. Dum Laga Ke Haisha
The movie depicted life in Haridwar of the ’90s. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, it revolved around a young couple finding it difficult to navigate their marriage. Reason? The husband doesn't find her wife attractive enough because she is overweight and doesn't meet his expectations of a beautiful wife. In the end, a contest brings them together and then finally kiss.
3. Toilet - Ek Prem Katha
Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar, Toilet Ek Prem Katha is a satirical comedy shot in two villages near Mathura. The movie was successful in spreading the message of the need to build toilets in the country as a measure to promote women's health, hygiene, and safety. It was interesting to note how Jaya, played by Bhumi Pednekar, mobilizes the women in her area and puts pressure on her in-laws and village authorities to construct toilets.
4. Anarkali of Aarah
The film starring Swara Bhaskar captured the spirit of the small town Aarah located in Bihar. It is the story of a folk dancer and the courage she shows. She is a dancer who performs on lewd numbers. During one of her performances, she gets molested by Dharmender a powerful academic. On realising that the law doesn't punish her molester, she decides to take the matter in her own hands.
5. Masaan
The movie is set against the backdrop of Varanasi and is cruel to those try to challenge the social quo. Problems arise when Deepak, a young man from a poor neighbourhood, falls in love with a young girl from a different caste.
