2022 Golden Globes Winners: Golden Globes 2022 winners were announced without any audience present for its 79th edition. The awards were held behind closed doors this time due to coronavirus restrictions and concerns over the new COVID variant Omicron.
However, this year's Globes have been in news not just for its closed doors ceremony, but also for a boycott by big names in the entertainment industry. From Scarlett Johansson to Tom Cruise, many other actors have protested against the lack of diversity among the Global Globes body, due to which the show was snubbed on a large scale.
Here is the list of women who have won the Golden Globes for the year 2022:
Best Supporting Actor (Female)
Ariana DeBose won the award for her role as Anita in Steven Spielberg's musical film West Side Story in Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Motion Picture category/
The other actors nominated for this award were Caitriona Balfe, Kirsten Dunst, Aunjanue Ellis, and Ruth Negga.
DeBose has won the Best Supporting Actor (Female) award for her role in West Side Story in Midnight Critics Circle and Discussing Film Critic Awards 2022 as well.

Ariana DeBose is currently the most awarded Best Supporting Actress contender this awards season so far with eight wins for her performance in West Side Story.
DeBose will be seen hosting the Saturday Night Live with musical guest Roddy Rich on January 15, 2022.
Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy
Rachel Zegler won the award among the fine lot of nominees such as Marion Cotillard, Alana Haim, Jennifer Lawrence, and Emma Stone.
The West Side Story actor is just 20 years old. The actor and singer grew up in Clifton and made her debut through this movie that was released in the COVID times.
Zegler had won the award for best actress from the National Board of Review. She will be next seen in Shazam: Fury of the Gods (Shazam 2) and Disney's live-adaption of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama
Michaela Jae Rodriguez won the award for her role in the final season of Pose, which initially premiered in 2018.

She became the first transgender Emmy nominee for best actor female in a TV drama category in 2021.
The actor wins the Golden Globe over Uzo Aduba of In Treatment Elisabeth Moss of The Handmaid’s Tale, Jennifer Aniston of The Morning Show and Christine Baranski of The Good Fight.
Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy
Jean Smart won this award for her role in the HBO Max's show Hacks. Smart had won an Emmy award for her role in the same show. Smart was chosen as a winner over Hannah Einbinder who was a co-actor in the same series, Elle Fanning of The Great, Issa Rae of Insecure and Tracee Ellis Ross of Black-ish.

Best Director- Motion Picture: Jane Campion, The Power of the Dog
Best Actress - Motion Picture- Drama: Nicole Kidman, Being The Ricardos
Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television: Kate Winslet, Mare of Easttown
