Farhan Akhtar has made it into the news recently for multiple reasons including his sports drama film Toofan, 20 years of his production company Excel Entertainment, and two decades of his directorial debut film Dil Chahta Hai. The actor has also been in news about his relationship with Shibani Dandekar and his daughter from his earlier wife Adhuna Akhtar.
Akhtar who is also a filmmaker, singer, screenwriter and writer apart from being an actor, kicked off his career in Bollywood as an assistant director in Lamhe and Himalay Putra. After which, he made his directorial debut with Dil Chahta Hai and won national recognition for the film about three friends who go on a trip to Goa.
Akhtar made the switch from directing to actor when he essayed a role in the 2008 film Rock On. He also played the the lead role in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag based on the life and times of India's Olympic athlete Milkha Singh and shot to fame for portraying strong lead roles.
Farhan Akhtar Shibani Dandekar Met at the Shooting Sets
Akhtar met the Indian-Australian singer who is also an actor, anchor and model on the sets of a television show titled I Can Do That. Akhtar was the host of this show while Dandekar was a contestant on the same along with other actors like Gauhar Khan, Mandira Bedi, Gurmeet Choudhary, VJ Bani, among others.

During her shoots on that Dandekar posted a picture on her Instagram which became controversial and gave media a sneak peek into their relationship. It showed herself walking beside a 'mystery man' whose back was towards the camera, holding his hand. This post sparked dating rumours between the two and although the duo did not respond to the rumours initially, Akhtar clarified later.
The official clarification was made when Akhtar shared the same picture on his Instagram account, confirming that he was indeed the mystery man from Dandekar's picture.
Although Akhtar's post wasn't captioned except for a heart emoji, it was enough to confirm the news.
The Duo Made Their First Public Appearance
Akhtar and Dandekar were seen making their first public appearance as a couple at actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding reception held on December 1 in Mumbai.
After their public appearances and official confirmation of the duo dating each other, Akhtar and Dandekar often take to their respective social media accounts to express appreciation and support for each other. From dedicated captions to goofy pictures, the couple does it all to keep giving us couple goals.
Dandekar has been Akhtar's one of greatest supporters before the release of his film Toofan opposite Mrunal Thakur says Akhtar. Dandekar took to her Instagram account multiple times to share posters of the film, songs and moments from the film on her platform.
Previously, Dandekar penned a note for her partner on his 47th birthday on January 9. She wrote, "To the love of my life, my best friend, my ludo partner ... wouldn’t know how to be on this journey without you... lucky to have you holding my hand and watching my back through it all."
Akhtar isn't an exception when it comes to expressing their love for each other on Instagram. On February 14, marked as Valentine's Day, he shared a picture of himself with Dandekar with the caption, "Today. Tomorrow. Forever. @shibanidandekar."
On Dandekar's 40th birthday, Akhtar wrote in the caption of a birthday post, "You’ll always have my shoulder to lean on. Happy birthday @shibanidandekar .. love you"
