Chennai Schools: As the country has been confounded with back to back reports of sexual abuses in educational institutions, celebrities are using their platforms to amplify the reach of the students who were silenced by their schools and were "gaslighted by elders", disregarding their claims as absurd.
Among all other voices, Indian singer Chinmayi Sripaada is one of the most prominent ones who has continuously used her social media platform to amplify such cases.
On May 28, Sripaada took to her official Twitter account to bring forward the recently revealed sexual abuse case of Kendriya Vidyalaya CLRI where a Hindi teacher allegedly touched a female student and her friends inappropriately on multiple occasions.
The tweet mentioned that "this would happen in crowds" including instances like distributing chocolates among the class.
The sexual abuse survivor said, "when my friends saw this and asked me about it, I was more embarrassed that she saw than it happened. This is how he manipulates children and expects them to shut up."
Model Kripali Samdariya also actively campaigned against the abuses at the educational institutions through her social media. She, herself an alumna of the Chennai school, claimed that the school chose to silence the allegations by the students who brought the issue in front of the administration.
Others such as Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli and Archana Kalpathi also voiced their opinions on their social media accounts.
TW: stories of sexual harassment. Rajagopalan, commerce teacher in #PSBB(KKN) is a sexual harasser. Posting this after I have personally verified this with a student from this man's class. Also posting this to amplify and ensure he gets the punishment he deserves. This is sick. https://t.co/ndJIKrOmN5

More About The Chennai School Abuse Case:
The commerce teacher at a private school in Chennai was suspended for sexual harassment allegations. The accuser claimed the teacher, who taught commerce for more than 10 years in the school, harrassed students under the guise of a "father figure". This happened after a teacher of PSBB school was arrested for similar accusations.
The students claimed that the teacher would arrange access to the personal information of the students to blackmail and harass them later.
A former student said," he would spank female students under the guise of disciplining them and thrash and verbally abuse the male students that questioned his behaviour."
