Ayushmann Khurrana's 'An Action Hero' Gets A Release Date, Details Here

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer An Action Hero has received a release date. The makers on April 22, Friday, announced that the film will release at the year-end. The film is being billed as an action film with an offbeat satirical sense of humour. The film will reportedly revolve around an artist’s journey both in front and behind the lens.

The Anirudh Iyer directorial will be backed by filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s banner Colour Yellow Production. Iyer has previously assisted Rai on his two projects—Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Filmmaker Aanand Rai said, “Colour Yellow is always excited to bring newer stories to newer world for its audience. Happy to have two of my favourite actors Ayushman Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat in this thrilling journey of An Action Hero.”

Ayushmann Khurrana was quoted saying, “I absolutely loved the script of An Action Hero instantly. It’s zany, it’s fresh, it’s disruptive and it has all the trappings of cinema that I have come to be known for."

Iyer also said he had a great time working with Khurrana and Ahlawat and he can’t wait to see the movie in theatres.

An Action Hero Release Date

The film that went on the floors in January this year will be released on December 2, 2022. Khurrana tweeted a poster of the film and wrote, “Stay in the blur till 2nd of December 2022.”

He had recently announced the wrap of the film’s London schedule with a behind-the-scenes video. His post had photos and videos from the shoot and his escapades into the city.

Khurrana, who recently completed a decade in the film industry, will be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s socio-political thriller Anek which is all set to release on May 13, 2022. Khurrana had earlier spoken about how the Sinha directorial will “usher in a different language of cinema”. The actor will also feature in another film alongside Rakul Preet Singh. The two actors will be collaborating on a campus dramedy directed by Anubhuti Kashyap called Doctor G. He will be essaying the role of a medical professional in the film which will be his first collaboration with Rakul.
