Vaccine Pink Booths: The Uttar Pradesh government has given a nod to start 'Special Pink Booths' or vaccination camps dedicated to women. Determined to beat COVID-19, the government is trying to encourage women to take vaccines. As many as 150 booths will start operating in all 75 districts of the state from Monday (July 7).
The government has called for the building of such "pink booths" across all districts- one for each age category. "To ensure the safety of the women, the UP government from June 7 is starting 'women special' vaccination booth on all the districts," Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted in Hindi on Sunday adding that all the mothers and sisters should get the vaccine as soon as possible. Women from 18-44 and 45+ groups will be able to get the vaccines in district women hospitals and district joint hospitals.

The state government on Sunday said it was the first state to cross the 30-lakh mark in the 18-44 age category - highest in the country. Meanwhile, the state has administered 2.02 crore cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses, but only a little more than 1.5 percent of the people have been fully vaccinated. Out of the total doses, it has so far inoculated a little more than 40 percent of females in the state, according to the CoWin dashboard statistics. Chief Minister Adityanath has instructed officials to prepare a strategy to administer 10 lakh doses a day in July. Read how a 124-year-old woman from Jammu & Kashmir received COVID-19 vaccine here.
