Covid Vaccine Third Dose in India: Health and frontline works in India will be eligible for the 'precaution dose' of the Covid vaccine in January 2022.
The officials have affirmed that close to three crore health and frontline works will be administered with the precaution dose after a gap of nine months from their second dose.
The 'precaution dose' will be the same one as that of their first and second vaccination dose.
Further, it will be administered to the age group of 60 and above with co-morbidities. But not all of them the preference are given to the health and frontline workers.
The three crore health and frontline workers and above 60 years with co-morbidities people might get the 'precaution dose' after a few weeks more despite completing the nine-month gap for them to be eligible.
The officials while talking about the mixing of doses stated that "Any decision on the mixing of doses will be taken based on clinical trial results"
The clinical trials on the mixing of the doses in ongoing in CMC Vellore as per government officials.
