Be Safe And Wear Mask: BJP Candidate Parno Mittra Tests Positive For COVID-19

Parno Mittra joined the BJP party in March this year. The 34-year-old actor rose to prominence for her role in the 2011 release National Award-winning Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona.

Parno Mittra COVID Positive: The Bengali actor has been diagnosed with COVID-19 on Monday. Mittra was contesting in the West Bengal elections from the BJP party. She is a candidate from Baranagar in North 24 Parganas where the election was held on April 17.

Mittra informed her followers on social media that she has tested positive for coronavirus. The actor has also requested people to get tested for COVID-19 who have recently come in contact with her. "Please do quarantine yourselves, get tested and take care. Lastly, please continue to be safe and wear a mask," she said.

Mittra, who has been diagnosed amid the elections in the state, also thanked her well-wishers and shared that she is ill but recovering well. "I am saddened to further inform that due to this new and unfortunate development I will not be able to cast my vote and see my journey through to its fruition in the immediate future. But the journey is far from ended and we will continue to persevere for our vision together," she wrote in the post.

Mittra's Journey

Mittra, who started off her acting career with the Bengali television series Khela in 2007, has joined the BJP party aiming to come to power after the Assembly Elections. The 34-year-old actor rose to prominence for her role in the 2011 release National Award-winning Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona.

Lat year, Mittra opened up about her struggles with mental health and suicidal thoughts in a Twitter thread. On Twitter, she wrote: “Mental health is important! I have been suicidal and have thought of it a number of times. The pain doesn’t go away. We slowly move into a shell that becomes unbreakable! It’s not easy to open up or just talk to someone. It becomes a part of your being.”

“I just want to tell anyone out there suffering please seek help.I have and I have been dealing with it . It’s not been easy but I have friends and family who have been there for me. My doctors have been a huge support. So please don’t let this just be a social media trend,” she continued.

Sharing a note of wisdom, she added, “Be kind and watch out for your loved ones.”
