I once read somewhere, "Remember when you were a kid and you'd fall on the trampoline and everyone would keep jumping so you couldn't get up? Well, that is college." And I couldn't relate to this post more! I mean, I am struggling with one topic and before I can cope with it, the professor has already completed another five topics. Every new topic is somehow related to that ONE topic I didn't study. I had just come out of the fest vibe and suddenly I have a deadline for four assignments and two internals within a week! Amidst this chaos, the college break due to coronavirus pandemic has come as a bittersweet relief. But I resolved to put this time spent social distancing to good use. Here is how I am making my coronavirus break productive!

1. Catching up on my syllabus
For the first time in my college life, I feel like I have enough time to actually catch up on my syllabus. I have been going through all that has been covered in the class yet and I am almost there. Call me a nerd, but deep down don't we all feel a little relaxed when our syllabus is complete and one can actually understand what the professor is saying in their lecture? So now that you have time to do that, you should! Just 2-3 hours a day and you can ace your semester exams! Aur kya chahiye?
2. Working on my resume
Making a good resume is like marketing yourself. The product is you, and the way you present your resume can make the employer believe in your skills! Take your time, because now you have a lot of it. Keep in mind that a good resume is all that it takes to catch the attention of recruiters; which is the first step of hiring. So what are you waiting for? Jot down all your skills and polish your resume till it begins to shine bright. This can also be a good time to do an internship and get some experience and skills, that can both be boasted about in your resume and will come to your aid once you get a job.

3. Reading books
Read books. This cannot be emphasised enough. Reading books helps you increase your attention span and also helps you see the world from different perspectives. When you get your hands on a book that holds your attention, you won't feel the need to open your social media accounts every two minutes. If you don't know where to start, I would recommend reading any of Khaled Hosseini's books. They are the best books I have ever come across. Because in case this is your first book, it should not be disappointing.

4. Taking care of my mental health
Contrary to what other people may have to say, social distancing has done some good to me. I have so much time for myself! Everything is less hectic than usual. I am now dealing with things at my own pace. I don't have to "wind-up" my thoughts and bury them down so that I can study for the next test! so social distancing has worked really well for me. I went back to my hobbies, even did some painting and quilling.
So get in touch with yourself and discover a new hobby perhaps. Start with simple things. Start making a journal. If you have anxiety issues, writing journals and lists helps a lot, according to me.
5. Spending quality time with family
I got to spend a lot more time with my family due to social distancing. Now that everyone is at home or is working from home, my entire family gets to be together day and night. I had totally forgotten what it felt like to sit with the whole family and watch a movie till late night because no one is tired and no one has to wake up early. Pure Bliss!
After reading all of this, I hope you realise that your 2020 starts in March! Because January and February were trial months. I hope things get better soon. But just like every dark cloud has a silver lining, something good can actually come from this struggle that we find ourselves amidst, if we want truly want it to.
