The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana's Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is finally out. And the excitement around the film can be sensed through the hilarious memes and tweets that are going viral. Ayushmann Khuranna with his nose ring and rainbow cape has bewitched the audience as Kartik Singh. The first instalment, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, with Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles addressed the issues of erectile dysfunction. The movie was a big hit and gained appreciations for bringing out such closed-door-discussions out on the screen. Thus, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan, with an emphasis on ‘zyada’ has raised the expectations of the audiences too.
Ayushmann's films are mostly based on social issues, so what makes this movie stand-out?

In the trailer, Kartik and his on-screen partner Aman Tripathi re-create the classic train scene of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The audience will witness a completely new narrative of the same old story of lovers trying to convince their families. Like any other rom-com, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan will also have a happy ending (as Kartik says in the trailer), but it will not be a stereotypical one.
A movie on same-sex love with a happy ending would mean that society is finally ready to accept the gay couple? But is it possible?
Deeply rooted in reality
Like Ayushmann’s other movies, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan is also set in a middle-class Indian home which is most resistant to change. The trailer showcases some scathing responses to comments like homosexuality is unnatural, a disease or a crime one should be ashamed of. The trailer also shows how Aman Tripathi’s parents will fix his marriage with Kusum (Pankhuri Aswathy) to put him on the "right track".
In the trailer, Kartik is seen convincing Aman to talk to his parents about their relationship since they are educated and will understand, unlike Kartik’s parents. But their expectations collapse as Gajraj Rao (Aman's father) is shown beating Kartik for being the root of the 'disease'.
A movie about family love
The trailer shows Aman's mother, played by Neena Gupta, willing to accept his relationship with Kartik. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan will also deal with the importance of family in bringing social changes. The trailer ends Ayushmann’s saying, " their life is full of fights but the one that has to be fought with family is the most difficult."
Wait and Watch
Is the movie, then promising to give a new set of Raj and Simran to us? But rushing into conclusions now wouldn't be correct. One can only wait and watch when the film will hit the theatres on February 21.
