On this Doctor's Day, Star Plus released the first look of the much-anticipated sequel to their serial Sanjivani. Aired between 2002 to 2005, Sanjivani was the most popular medical drama on Indian television. With a fresh storyline and insight into the lives of professional doctors the TV drama was appreciated by the Indian audience. The chemistry between the main leads and their relationships and the human aspect of their lives connected with their fans. After the success of this show, many producers attempted to create the same magic with Dill Milgaye, Savitri Devi College and Hospital but failed to recreate the original essence. After a long wait of 14 years, Sanjivani 2 is back with some old and new faces. Sharing the first look on social media, the producer Siddharth P. Malhotra introduced the new cast of Sanjivani 2.

The cast of Sanjivani 2
Making a comeback, fans will again see the beloved couple of Sanjivani hospital, Dr Juhi played by Gurdeep Kohli and Dr Shashank Gupta played by Monish Bahl. Gurdeep recently played the character of Anandita in Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane starring opposite Ram Kapoor. Whereas, Monish played the role of a doctor in Sony TV's Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. Apart from this, new faces like Sayantani Ghosh, Namit Khanna and Surbhi Chandna, will be in the lead this time. Surbhi Chandna recently played the character of 'Anika' in Star Plus romantic drama Ishqbaaz with Nakul Mehta.

Dr Juhi and Dr Shashank on the return of Sanjivani
In a conversation with Times of India, Gurdeep said, “Sanjivani was a very impactful show for the viewers. I remember during my Sanjivani journey and even after that, I met a lot of youngsters who took up medicine because of our show. Our hospital was worshipped by the audience and the characters were extremely loved. I would like to add that Dr Juhi is extremely excited to recreate the magic with Sanjivani once again.” On a similar tone, Monish said, “It's a wonderful moment. It's an iconic show with which I had begun my journey on television and it's coming back after 18 years. This time we will be approaching the show with more maturity and human emotions more subtly than before. All the best to all of us I would say.”
The story of four medical interns balancing their personal and professional life will be carried forward by these new faces. Fans are excited and are waiting to watch their favourite doctors on the small screen again.
