Netflix's psychological drama Qala stars Tripti Damri, Babil Khan and Swastika Mukherjee in pivotal roles. The movie follows the story of a rising and talented singer who is troubled by her past, the increasing pressure of success and her mother's disdain and starts doubting her skills and choices. Who Is Sireesha Bhagavatula?
Born in Andhra Pradesh's Machilipatnam in 1996, the 26-year-old Sireesha Bhagavatula was raised in a family of ardent music lovers who sprouted the seed of singing in her. She allegedly started singing at the age of three and took vocal training for years. From a very young age, Sireesha Bhagavatula started participating in singing competitions and shows which gave her the opportunity to meet singers like legendary singers SP Balasubrahmanyam and Bappi Lahiri.
Sireesha was born to Bala Bhagavatula and Murty Satyanarayana and has a sister. She completed her graduation from Vizag's Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering. An engineering gold medallist and an IT firm employee, Sireesha quit her day job to pursue music as a career. She also participated in Indian Idol season 12 and make the face of every home in India.
She made her playback singing debut with AR Rahman's composition Maathare from the movie Bigil in 2019. She continued working with AR Rahman for songs like Sye from the movie PS-I, Yalo Yedu Sundara from Cobra and has sung many Hindi, Tamil and Telugu songs including Saakini Daakini's song Kadile Kadile.
She became the voice of Qala Manjushree, the female lead of Qala. Her songs Ghodey Pe Sawaar and Phero Na Najariya are being loved by listeners.
