They are striving to establish their credibility and voice their opinions and the state in which their country stands in the wake of the war, bringing their story to life with their social media, reaching and creating awareness with millions of their followers.

Here are 5 Influencers who have braved the risks to share their story that you must follow:

  1. Anna Prytula of L’viv, Ukraine was one of the star lifestyle influencers with her one million follower base, her account now private, has transitioned from what seems like any other digital fashion magazine to regularly posting stories creating awareness about the status quo in her hometown in the wake of the Russian Invasion. What once was a glimpse into her glamorous lifestyle, now only showcases how Ukraine is being trampled under the brutality of the Russian invasion.
  2. Not falling behind on Tiktok, a Ukrainian tiktoker named Nastya Tyman, with almost a million followers on both Instagram and TikTok,  is using her social media as a platform to prepare the citizens to survive in the aftermaths of the war. She has been seen posting tutorials on how to use abandoned Russian military vehicles to their advantage. A recent video surfaced shows how Nastya explains in detail how to mobilize abandoned vehicles. Watch her posts here
  3. The TikTok algorithm seems to be in favor of the people posting about the current events, which has proved beneficial to Tiktoker Marta Vastuya, who has been posting legitimate videos showcasing and providing the world with the destructive aftermath of Russian attacks on Ukraine and is also acting as a backbone in creating awareness across the world.
  4. Alina Volik, a Ukrainian travel blogger, with over 36,000 followers on TikTok, has diverged from her regular posts highlighting her trips and is seen posting informative videos of life under the shadow of invasion, tutorials on creating backpacks filled with first aid supplies for emergencies, how to protect against glass shards in a blast and more. She is also regularly seen urging her international followers to see and spread awareness about the truth and how in the name of a “Russian military operation” it is a war that is hurting thousands of Ukrainian lives.
  5. Apart from the influencers, women such as Mary Furtas, a Ukrainian entrepreneur with more than 55000 followers, showcased on her profile, political pleas against the Russian invasion. “Every Russian is responsible for this,” one of her posts said, on the day Russia invaded Ukraine.

It seems with all that’s going on in the world, Ukrainian influencers have made it a mission to share information and spread awareness with Western audiences, urging their followers to pray for Ukraine, donate to support the Ukrainian military, and demanded Russian users to join anti-war efforts and to share the truth about life in the shadow of Russian invasion, which is only glimpse into what the world awaits soon.
