Snoop Dogg’s youngest daughter Cori Broadus revealed that she recently tried to end her own life.
Broadus took to Instagram and spoke about her struggle with mental health issues. She said she recently attempted to take her own life but was doing better thanks to her family’s support.
Broadus's caption read “The last few weeks my mental health has not been so great at one point I tried to end my life”. She added that her family gave her “a purpose to live” and helped her realise that “life is much more than material things”.
The next day, Cori Broadus went on Instagram Live and spoke about her self-worth and experiences. She spoke about growing up with two light skin brothers and being “the only chocolate one”. Broadus also spoke about how she got lupus when she was 6-years-old, due to which she had to take steroids which made her overweight. She said it “automatically messed with my health”.
The 21-year-old said that she began to question herself. “You’re just in pain and you don’t know what’s going on. And you look at your brothers and other family members and you’re like, ‘Why? Why me?’” said Broadus during her Instagram Live.
Cori Broadus also spoke about how she realised that life is about more than material possessions. She said that “You just have to learn to appreciate stuff because, at the end of the day, stuff doesn’t matter.”
Broadus said that she began contemplating suicide after her boyfriend got into a car accident. After she attempted to end her life, she had to check into a mental health facility. “As I was in there, I started appreciating everything,” she said about the mental health facility.
