Shooter Dadi Dead: Chandro Tomar, popularly known as Shooter Dadi, passed away on April 30, Friday, succumbing to the COVID-19. "What she achieved at this age is hard to believe and achieve for anyone even at a young age," Twitter users react to the sad demise.
Shooter Dadi's death has added another name to the list of lives lost due to COVID-19 among 208,330 others. The 89-year-old sharpshooter was undergoing her COVID-19 treatment at Meerut Medical College, she died after four days of treatment.
The Indian shooter who took up her passion for the sport at the age of 65, was admired by people all over the country for her courage and skills. Hardeep Singh Puri, Aviation Minister of India, wrote in a tweet, "The courage with which she challenged patriarchy and took up shooting as a sport will inspire generations to come."
"Condolences to her family," he added.
Tributes and condolences were paid to Tomar on Twitter as Indians seemed to be under the grief cloud of the tragic death. Celebrities such as Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Akshay Kumar and others took to their official social media accounts for the same.
Akshay Kumar tweeted, that he never net Shooter Dadi but could feel how warm she was when the two interacted on Twitter.

Bhumi Pednekar who essayed the role of Chandro Tomar in the film Saand Ki Aankh paid her tributes. She wrote, "Feels like a part of me is gone. She made her own rules & paved the path for many girls to find their dream."
She offered her condolences to Tomar's family and shared that she is grateful to have known her.
