Excited about the SHEIN India comeback? Who isn't? Perhaps that explains the meme fest on social media platforms. Even though some of the jokes, trending big time, are hands down funny and relatable, many of them somehow paint women as greedy and spendthrift.
The Indian government imposed a ban on over 200 Chinese apps including the popular China-based shopping platform SHEIN last year. Weeks after Pub, one of the banned apps made its comeback in the country, the relaunch of SHEIN comes as a wonder for all those who admired the cheap yet classy shopping app, known for selling trending outfits.
However, there is a catch to the good news which is SHEIN will relaunch in India through Amazon.
According to a report, SHEIN announced that it will relaunch its outlet during the two-day Amazon Prime Day Sale which starts at midnight on July 26 and ends on July 27. Dedicated to the same, Amazon even created a separate page for the Prime Day launch of SHEIN.
Right after the official announcement, consumers of the mentioned platform took to social media platforms to celebrate the same. See some of the reactions below:

Women running wildly with shopping bags, searching for credit cards, spending all of their boyfriend's money to shop and all such not so hilarious jokes don't really bother fans of the online shopping giant anymore, women in particular.

Honestly, many of the memes actually had the potential to be funny only if they hadn't introduced the gender angle in them, attacking women in particular.
Something similar was witnessed when the gaming application Pubg was relaunched in India. While a flood of memes claimed that boys got their life back after the relaunch, the question arose, why only boys? Are games and sports limited to a gender? Similarly, is fashion and shopping apps limited to women only?
